The Barrington Area Development Council annually presents a Community Service Award to a person or persons who made a meaningful contribution of time and effort that has benefited the entire greater Barrington Community. This includes, but is not limited to, fields such as health, finance, land use, youth, education, conservation, and transportation.

About the Barrington Area Development Council
Our Mission: BADC will initiate and support programs that improve community life.
The Barrington Area Development Council (BADC) was founded in 1966 in response to growing development pressures on the quality of life in the greater Barrington Area. Out of several studies that BADC sponsored came recommendations that resulted in the formation of the Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG) and Citizens for Conservation (CFC). In addition, BADC was a catalyst participating in the formation of the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA). These groups remain thriving vital organizations to this day.
Subsequently, as our vision broadened, we supported such diverse causes as: Flint Creek Watershed Partnership, Gigi’s Playhouse, Hope for Bridget, Bob Lee’s Ride for 3 Reasons, Phil Bash Memorial Skateboard Park, Project HorsePower wifi connection for low income students, Community Blood Drive, Area CPR training, Bikeways Commission, District 220 Caucus, Hope’s In, fitMS Neurobalance, Bags for Charity, Ride for 3 Reason 2017.
Last August, with funding from the Barrington Area Community Foundation, we arranged for 100 community leaders to attend the renowned two-day Global Leadership Summit held at Willow Creek Church.
